Who we are

Understanding the positive impact one's actions can have on others inspires generosity and gives life a deeper meaning. This vision permeates all our activities, which encourage social awareness and personal development.

The Centre is run by a group of volunteers: university students, professionals and parents who share this vision of encouraging girls and women to discover their unique potential and put their talents and skills at the service of society.

Merindah is a project of the Association for Educational Projects Limited (AEPL), a non-profit company promoting educational activities, character development and Christian ideals. Pastoral care of Merindah is entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.

AEPL has a Child Protection Policy which is available here. The Child Protection Officer of AEPL is Gerald Santucci, Director of Snedden, Hall & Galop Lawyers (0414 936 456).

What is Opus Dei?

Opus Dei is a Catholic institution founded by Saint Josemaria Escriva in 1928. Its mission is to spread the message that work and everyday life are occasions for growing closer to God, for serving others, and for improving society.

Opus Dei's key message is that work, family life, and the ordinary events of each day are opportunities for drawing close to Christ, and making Him known to others.

It complements the work of local churches by offering classes, talks, retreats and pastoral care that help people develop their personal spiritual life and concern for others.
